Created for purpose
During the entirety of 2021 I had to be reminded often I had purpose. In questions and conversation I felt friends were reminding me that God saw me and I was created with a purpose. It felt exhausting to need that reminder so often as I know with confidence God has called and created me with a purpose, yet I was still needing the reminder. I know I am not the only one who could use the reminder.
You were created with a purpose. (Psalm 139:16)
You were created with unique abilities and gifts. (1 Peter 4:10)
You were created and called to fulfill purposes before the foundation of the world was set. (Ephesians 2:10)
Our only requirement is a willingness to say “yes” to what He calls you to. (2 Corinthians 8:12)
We can rest in these truths together as we enter 2022. We can claim that though we need to be encouraged often, we know with certainty we have purpose.
Then release control.
At times the need to fulfill the purpose God has given me revs up its engine and I stampede ahead without acknowledgement of the season. The purpose I’ve been called to needs to be humbly laid at Jesus feet so I can sacrifice control and allow His purposes for me to be fulfilled.
“I loose my hands, take control. Let your purposes unfold.” – Refresh Me, Leeland

It has been a season of waiting to see how God will use me in this corner of the world. But even in waiting I can have assurance that God sees me and that assurance should give me the confidence to loose my hands and allow God to take control. So much pressure is released when I do not have to focus on my clenched hands, holding my dreams and plans. So much rest and gratitude is granted when my focus is on trusting God to fulfill His purposes. When I am able to enter from a place of trust He is able to include me in the Story He is writing.
